Welcome to Lisa's Team Beau CureSearch Page
Keith, Robert, Savannah, Ryan and I are again participating in this year's event to raise funds for children's cancer on 14 October 2018. Together we are walking, raising funds, and working behind the scenes to make this year’s walk successful.
As many of you know, we have a close family friend who was diagnosed with and cured of cancer a few years ago. Beau has overcome tremendous odds against him, and is now a thriving 20 year old young man. Since his diagnosis Beau has graduated from high school, participated in Boy's State, run Track, was a coxswain for the Crew team, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, enrolled at American University, studied abroad in Madrid and Brussels and interned for Senator Mark Warner. But when he was diagnosed with cancer, these last few years of adventure and the pursuit of his dreams were quite uncertain. Sadly, 42 families face a similar diagnosis every day. Every day. And 5 of them don’t survive.
Funding for research for children’s cancers is vastly and consistently underfunded, and CureSearch is doing something about it. The Northern Virginia chapter of CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, a non-profit foundation, has donated over $100,000 a year to children’s cancer research directly from donations for the CureSearch walk. Nearly 100% of your donation goes directly to research for children's cancers. Please join me in supporting this worthwhile endeavor. Do it for the youngest cancer victims who aren't even born yet.

With your help, I can surpass my fundraising goal! Please, make a donation to my team and make a difference in the lives of the 42 children diagnosed with cancer each day. Support me as I participate in the CureSearch Walk, and help change the odds for those children most at risk.
