Every child that has cancer, should have a CURE!
8 years! It has been 8 years since our family learned that Emma Jean Pederson had leukemia at the age of 3. Since then, we have learned more about childhodd cancer, research, funding, treatments, cures and loss of life than any parent should have to know. But, because of this personal journey, we have learned how vital research is for childhood cancer and treatments that are tailored to pediatric patients are for survival and long term remission. It is because of CureSearch and the research conducted in concert with Children's Oncology Group, that allowed Emma to receive the same protocol of treatment that kids would recieve at major hospitals and university medicial centers accross the country, but we were able to reamain in our hometown. Supporting CureSearch, not only helps fund life saving research, but allows families in smaller communities with smaller medical facilities, receive the highest standard of treatment for their child's disease, through the Children's Oncology Group clinical trials.
Together, we will see the day when, every child that has cancer, has a cure!
I am participating in this year's event to raise funds for children's cancer and with your help, I can surpass my fundraising goal! Please, make a donation and make a difference in the lives of the 43 children diagnosed with cancer each day.
The CureSearch Walk honors and celebrates children whose lives have been affected by children's cancer. The money I raise will support CureSearch for Children's Cancer, a non-profit foundation whose mission is to fund and support targeted and innovative children's cancer research, with measurable results. In addition, they are the authoritative source for information resources about children's cancer for families and their support systems.
Five of the 43 children diagnosed every day do not survive. Please, support me as I participate in the CureSearch Walk, and help change the odds for those children most at risk.
