Welcome to Chris's Ultimate Hike Page
Thanks for visiting my Ultimate Hike page! Recently, I've either been volunteering or coaching for the Ultimate Hike program, but I am going back to the basics because I want to raise more money to end children's cancer, and I want to get out and hike my own hike. This will be my fourteenth event (give or take) and I need your help to make sure I can keep helping the kiddos. Please, make a donation and make a difference in the lives of the 43 children diagnosed with cancer each day.
The money I raise will support CureSearch for Children's Cancer, a national non-profit foundation whose mission is to fund and support targeted and innovative children's cancer research, with measurable results. In addition, they are the authoritative source for information resources about children's cancer for families and their support systems. I have been involved with this wonderful organization since 2011, and I promise this is something very special and worth your charity. Every year I learn of new research and potential cures that CureSearch made possible, and it brings hope to me and so many out there touched by this disease.
As many of my friends know, I was drawn to this organization because my daughter, Violet Kate was in treatment for Hepatoblastoma, a rare liver cancer. Now, she's almost 7 years off treatment! Before cancer, my wife Candi and I hiked every Sunday morning while the kids were at church. We used to say that the trail was our church as we spent the morning together under the sky and trees with nature. Drawing on these two parts of my past, I found I can share my time and talent and turn that into something bigger than me. And this is so big: Five of the 43 children diagnosed every day do not survive. And many of the survivors have devastating lifelong side effects. Please, support me as I help change the odds for those children most at risk including Violet and her friends.
Thank you for helping me work tell children's cancer to take a hike!
