Let's Tell Pediatric Cancer to TAKE A HIKE!
Thanks for visiting my Ultimate Hike page! This is my third year participating in this event.
I am sure some of you are wondering - why would she CHOOSE to hike almost 30 miles in one day for the THIRD time?!
I am participating in a true ultimate challenge - hiking to raise funds for children's cancer and with your help, I can surpass my fundraising goal!
Before I got involved with Curesearch, I had no idea that pediatric cancer research is the LEAST FUNDED. At the same time, one of my mother's students was diagnosed with cancer. He was in kindergarten at the time. I knew I had to get involved.
The money I raise will support CureSearch for Children's Cancer, a national non-profit foundation whose mission is to fund and support targeted and innovative children's cancer research, with measurable results. In addition, they are the authoritative source for information resources about children's cancer for families and their support systems.
I took last year off due to some medical issues. When debating whether I should jump back into it, I found out that my friend's patient had passed away. She was only 7 years old. This year I dedicate my hike to her.
Please, make a donation and make a difference in the lives of the 43 children diagnosed with cancer each day. Five of the 43 children diagnosed every day do not survive. Please, support me as I help change the odds for those children most at risk. This is a life-changing experience - and a humbling reminder that there is so much work to be done so children don't have to suffer.
Thank you for helping me work tell children's cancer to take a hike!
