Welcome to My Ultimate Hike Page
Thanks for visiting my Ultimate Hike page!
I am participating in a true ultimate challenge - hiking to raise funds for children's cancer and with your help, I can surpass my fundraising goal!
On September 22nd, I will hike a 25 mile section of the Pacific Crest Trail in CA in one day. I have been training for many weeks and feel strong! I've hiked at First Landing State Park, Billy Goat Trail in MD, Upper Hawksbill Trail in Shenandoah National Park and Lake Lawson trail near my house. I'm also strength training, running, and going to Orange Theory Fitness several days a week to prepare physically.
I'm hiking in honor of Gordon Krigstein, who is almost 8 months old and is the son of a friend and colleague of mine. Gordon is a happy, smiling, chatty, red-haired baby who makes friends everywhere he goes. He was diagnosed with neuroblastoma after his two-month check-up. He has had several rounds of chemotherapy and just got over the first hurdle on his journey!
Please make a donation and make a difference in the lives of the 43 children diagnosed with cancer each day. The money I raise will support CureSearch for Children's Cancer, a national non-profit foundation whose mission is to fund and support targeted and innovative children's cancer research, with measurable results. In addition, they are the authoritative source for information resources about children's cancer for families and their support systems.
This will be a weekend adventure, an achievement of a lifetime, and a chance to find cures for cancer’s youngest fighters.
Let's tell pediatric cancer to take a hike!
