thanks for visiting my Ultimate Hike page!
After going to a CureSearch Ultimate Hike informational session a few months ago, I learned that 43 kiddos are diagnosed with cancer each day. This is devastating for children just starting their lives and the people that love them. So, I'm going to hike 22.7 miles on the Lone Star Trail with other folks committed to raising awareness of the difficulties of treating and curing children with cancer. Many on the trail are people who have been personally affected by children's cancer and I'm humbled to hike alongside them.
Did you know there are very limited treatments options for little ones with cancer, and 60% of the kids who survive will experience harsh side effects due to undergoing chemo and radiation? And, I'm talking serious side effects, such as infertility, heart failure, and other cancers. Along with raising awareness of issues like these, I am setting a daring goal...$3,500 by my 35th birthday in September. This money will go directly to CureSearch, a 501c3 non-profit committed to funding research aimed at curing children's cancer. Daniel and I are devoted to this cause, donating $150 ourselves. But I need your help to reach my goal!
Five of the 43 children diagnosed every day will not survive. And the average age of a child diagnosed is six, just old enough to be starting 1st grade. Please support me so we can help change the odds for these children. Thank you for helping me tell children's cancer to TAKE A HIKE!!
