Welcome to my fundraising page
This year I’m choosing to act more and ignore less. Every day feels like one major societal problem in my face after the next. The Border Crisis - Homelessness - Gun Violence - it’s overwhelming. But rather than hanging in the complacency zone, I’m choosing to act by raising money for this non-profit organization called Cure Search whose sole mission is to find a cure for children's cancer. A friend of mine from college directly benefited from their support and resources in the hospital while her daughter Harper was battling childhood cancer.
Cure Search facts:
• Charity Navigator rates the foundation four of four stars.
• From 1991 to 2011 Cure Search served as the federal grantee for Children's Oncology Group grants issued by the National Cancer Inst.
• Cure Search supports clinical trial research at more than 175 hospitals across the United States
There’s a direct connection between financial leverage and breakthrough research so my fundraising goal is $2,400. I have less than 60 days with which to reach this goal. In addition, much like Susan G. Komen’s 5k Race For the Cure, there's a hiking event called the Ultimate Hike tied to the fundraising campaign. My goal is to complete the 22 mi. hike! I'll be documenting my training & the event itself here with pictures and I'm sure some interesting stories.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation today.
You’ll be making a big difference in the lives of children and their families because the biggest difference is made when people work together. Let's do it for Harper and the 43 other children diagnosed with cancer each day.
Thank you, Shelby
