Welcome to My Ultimate Hike Page
Thanks for visiting my Ultimate Hike page!
I will be taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life at the end of April- CureSearch's 10th Ultimate Hike. It's a 1 day, 28 mile hike on a trail rated "difficult." This is for a great cause and I will be hiking with families who have children and siblings battling cancer. Sadly, there will also be families hiking in memory of a child. I hope to come to understand that what I perceive as difficult or painful is nothing compared to what they all are going through.
CureSearch promotes hiking in nature for children with cancer and their families. Hiking as a source of hope, stamina, and for processing grief. At our kick off meeting CureSearch stated their goals of their organization:
1- To quickly find a cure for children with cancer. The children right now with cancer don't have time on their side while waiting to find the treatment that will cure them.
2- To find cancer treatments for pediatric patients that are tailored to their needs so there will be less life long side effects of the treatments.
The money I raise will support CureSearch for Children's Cancer, a national non-profit foundation whose mission is to fund and support targeted and innovative children's cancer research, with measurable results. In addition, they are the authoritative source for information resources about children's cancer for families and their support systems.
Five of the 43 children diagnosed every day do not survive. Please, support me as I help change the odds for those children most at risk.
Thank you for helping me work tell children's cancer to take a hike!
