Carry Their Cross
One of the greatest pains I have ever had to endure was seeing my daughter battle cancer. It was a pain that went so deep into my heart and soul my eyes could not produce enough tears to keep up with the sorrow flooding my heart. It was as if the air was knocked out of my lungs when I first heard the news. How could this have happened? There must be a mistake? This cant be real! So many emotions in such a short period of time, but there was no mistake and nothing has been more real or harder than having to walk into my litte girls hospital room to tell her that she has cancer. “Am I going to die dad?” This was my introduction to childhood cancer. This was the question my seven year old little girl asked me when I told her she has cancer. This is a pain I carry with me every day, and this is why I need your help. To let the world know what these brave warriors and their families are going through. My name is Ruben Loya and I am a father of a cancer warrior. A cancer survivor. I am a father of a hero and I am just one of thousands who have had to endure this, and more.
With the awesome support of my teammates Patrick and Rafael we plan on participating in a true ultimate challenge - hiking to raise funds for children's cancer and with your help, we can surpass our fundraising goal! Please, make a donation and make a difference in the lives of the 43 children diagnosed with cancer each day.
The money I raise will support CureSearch for Children's Cancer, a national non-profit foundation whose mission is to fund and support targeted and innovative children's cancer research, with measurable results. In addition, they are the authoritative source for information resources about children's cancer for families and their support systems.
Five of the 43 children diagnosed every day do not survive. Please, support me as I help change the odds for those children most at risk.
Thank you for helping us make a difference
