Welcome to our CureSearch Walk Team Page
Welcome to Parker's Team!!
This is our 3rd year participating in the SLC Curesearch Walk.
Parker was a energetic 2 1/2 year old, that loved to play outside and jump and wrestle with his brother. He is not a complainer but mom noticed he started limping on his leg on a thurs, and did not think that much of it, she thought maybe he had a sticker in his foot. It was not until Sat. when he started running a low grade fever and her sister suggested he might have fractured his leg. Mom took him into Instacare on Sun. and they did x-rays on both legs which were negative, but because of the low grade fever and his change in eating habits the doctor ordered blood work and sent us home. We recieved a phone call explaining that his blood tests were off, he had High White Blood Count and Low Platelets. Our pediatricion called mon morning wanting more testing done and by 4pm that afternoon Parker was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia June 3, 2013. The day that changed our lives forever.
He has undergone chemotherapy for 3 years 2 months and 17 days. He took his last chemo pill on Aug 20th 2016 and he rang the no more chemo bell just this last week on Sept. 20th.
We are excited and blessed that Parker will be turning 6 on the day of the walk.
Come celebrate his birthday by walking with his team!!!
The CureSearch Walk honors and celebrates children whose lives have been affected by children's cancer.
