Make an Impact this Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!
For the past 2+ years, I've been working for a truly incredible organization called CureSearch for Children's Cancer. I'm so proud of the work we do focused on accelerating the pace of childhood cancer research and bringing innovative new treatment options to families across the country.
September 26 is the national CureSearch Walk and I'm joining hundreds of families, friends, and communities across the country to create awareness and raise funds to support childhood cancer research. If you're able to, I hope you'll donate.
September is #ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth - here's what you should know:
- Cancer is the #1 cause of death by disease for children worldwide.
- While great progress has been made in survival rate for some of the most common types of childhood cancer, there are many other types and subtypes that have survival rates of less than 50%.
- The majority of kids who do survive will still face lifelong and often serious side effects of the toxic treatments they receive.
- CureSearch is uniquely focused on driving new treatments quickly from the lab to clinical trials where they'll reach children TODAY.
