About Lone Star Trail

You will hike 22.7 miles of the Lone Star Trail while you help raise money towards finding a cure for children's cancer, the leading cause of death by disease in children.

The Lone Star Trail is the longest wilderness footpath in the great state of Texas, and we can't wait to be back on it again this year. The warm climate means that you can find beautiful pops of color in the forms of flowers and other vegetation and fungi year round. It's our flattest course, which sets beginners up for success and allows avid Hikers to log great times on our 22.7 mile trek.

What's Included In My Experience?

Ultimate Hike is more than a hike - it's a weekend adventure, an achievement of a lifetime and a chance to find cures for cancer's youngest fighters.

Included in your Ultimate Hike Adventure:

  • Expert in person or virtual coaching for all experience levels. Our 12 week training program begins January 30.
  • 2 night’s lodging
  • Pasta Party
  • Fully stocked aid stations with plenty of food, water and support
  • Victory Reception
  • Ultimate Hike swag bag with T-shirt
  • Awards Breakfast
  • Transportation to and from the trail
  • Lifelong memories and the opportunity to tell children's cancer to take a hike!

Your Fundraising Goal

Each Ultimate Hiker raises a minimum of $2,500 for lifesaving children's cancer research. Never fundraised before? Don't worry! We provide the tools and personal support you need to reach your goals. There is a $100 registration fee to get started (which counts towards your fundraising goal!) and then hikers have until March 15 to try out the training and fundraising before committing to the fundraising requirement. Hikers will then have until June 1 to reach their minimum fundraising commitment, but most hikers reach their fundraising goal by the end of hike weekend! It's hard to capture the weekend in words, so we recommend you check out our hike weekend video!
