About the Trails

Our Ultimate Hike trails are some of the most beautiful in the country. They vary from hike to hike based on the geographic features of the area, but each trail will provide a challenge no matter the level of hike experience. Every route is selected so that we can provide ample aid stations to provide food, water, and support so our hikers can safely complete these extreme distances in one day.

Volunteer Planned CureSearch Hikes

Our volunteer planned Hikes are single day events that are open to the public, and tend to be shorter than our traditional events in length. We cannot thank the individuals and groups that work hard to put on these great events to help end children's cancer.

Thank you to our 2020 volunteer organizers! Additional 2021 Create Your Adventure events will be available soon. In the meantime, email ultimatehike@curesearch.org to start planning your own event, or to be the first to know about volunteer planned events near you.

Raleigh/Umstead CureSearch Hike - TBD

Volunteer Planned Event

RaleighThe Raleigh/Umstead CureSearch Hike is our newest volunteer planned event, hosted by a dedicated Ultimate Hike alumni who wants to make the program more accessible and hikes in honor of a local child. Located in Raleigh, NC, Umstead Park provides a beautiful natural setting of forested hills with well-maintained trails. Once you leave the trail head, you are 'in the woods,' and the only signs of civilization will be the trail markers and the footbridges that cross the many creeks and streams along the route. You'll be able to pick from a variety of distance options to create a hike that's challenging and doable for you!

Harlans HeroesIn 2015, a remarkable group of hikers took to the trail to hike 12 miles in Fort Mill, SC in memory of Harlan and in honor and memory of all children diagnosed across North and South Carolina. Since then it has been one of the most rapidly growing CureSearch events! Make plans to hike with us during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! Learn More...
